You can set home automation to fit with your schedule. Do you need help waking up in the morning? You can set your home to wake up with you. The system can open window shades, alter room temperatures, and make coffee before stepping foot out of bed.

Your smart home system can also flow with your nighttime routine. Set up a sleep mode that locks the doors, turns off lights, and sets the security alarm.

If you want to start off small, you can get inexpensive home automation devices. One of the cheapest smart device brands is Wyze. Wyze has a diverse selection of products, including smartwatches, noise-canceling headphones, robot vacuum, and scales.

Wyze smart devices for home automation are incredibly affordable compared to similar products. Control hardwired lights with smart switches and bulbs that have a rainbow of color selections. You automate lighting, the temperature, door locks, sprinkler system, and anything connected with a smart plug.

You do not need a hub to use many of the Wyze devices, as the system uses your Wi-Fi connection. The smartphone app allows you to have control remotely. Wyze is compatible with the Google Nest Home Hub when you want to expand your home automation system.

What you can do with Google Nest and home devices:

  •  Watch and listen to media, like music, podcasts, and audiobooks
  • Control televisions and speakers, like setting up multi-room audio and streaming content on devices with screen
  • Plan your day, like checking local traffic, weather, events on your calendar, and flight information
  • Get things done, such as using voice commands to create a grocery list, make phone/video calls, and set reminders
  • Control smart home devices
  • Learn and have fun with trivia and games

Google Nest offers items not available through other systems, including streaming devices, audio speakers, routers, and smoke and carbon monoxide sensors. The brand has some of the smart products you need to automate your home, like a thermostat and door locks.

But you will need to buy other devices to connect your non-smart products. The Google Nest Home Hub works with Philips Hue light bulbs and outlet connectors.

The Google Nest Home Hub is one of the most affordable systems on the market. The 2nd generation is only $99, and the new Nest Hub Max starts at $229.

You can also download home automation software, such as openHAB and Home Assistant. Both of these products are downloadable and work with thousands of devices.
